We are working towards a safer, cleaner, healthier and more beautiful place to live, work and visit. You can find more information at our website svena.org.

  • SVENA is endorsing two candidates in November 8, 2016 elections.  We believe they

Hilary Franz with her family on her farm, Bainbridge Island, WA

will benefit the most our Skykomish River Valley, its economic, public and environmental health, and tourism industry. We encourage you to use your wisdom and knowledge, register and vote in this election.

> Hilary Franz for the position of Washington State Commissioner of Public Lands. More info is in SVENA 9-2016 UPDATE and her campaign’s website http://hilaryfranz.com/

> Gordy Sibley for the position of Snohomish County PUD Commissioner. More info is at his campaign’s website http://www.gordyforpud.com/ and Facebook page Gordy for PUD

  • An article in Santacruze.com mentiones a UC-Berkeley research which shows that for every dollar taken from the state’s general fund for the operation of state
    Wallace Falls

Famous and popular Wallace Falls State Park, WA

parks, $2.35 returns to the general fund in the form of sales tax. In other words, park
revenues outweigh costs. Wallace Falls State Park is a big asset for Skykomish River Valley and brings visitors and revenues to us. SVENA is working on expansion of the Park, improvement of its infrastructure, and preservation of the surrounding area.
